Up at 5, out by just after 6 and the traffic was fine meant we were at Purple parking by 8:30. No problem checking in, full English breakfast (kids eat free during the Olympics!) and soon we're in departures. We see a few Olympic competitors from the USA and Russia heading home.
The flight to NewYork was actually early arriving and uneventful, we're on the Manhattan side of the plane so we see the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty as we land, which makes Isobel very excited. A relatively small customs queue, pick up the bags and re-check them and back through security. Just as we're ambling towards the gate they call last boarding on the Las Vegas flight. Perfect timing, what could possibly go wrong!!!...
